In an insightful discussion with UCR, the Red Rocker elaborated on his decision to embrace residencies rather than traditional touring. Hagar expressed, “I would never say I’m retiring because I don’t know how to do that, and I don’t want to do that. I’d probably be lying if I said I was and then came back, like everyone else.”

Emphasizing his desire to avoid the rigors of constant travel, Hagar reflected, “I took the residency, which I had been hesitant about initially because of the thought of performing in the same venue repeatedly. But now, I love it!” He admitted his initial concerns about maintaining creativity and freshness during a residency.

Hagar continued, “I was very nervous about repeating myself. So, I thought a residency might be a nightmare for that reason. But now, I realize that if I don’t have to travel, I can focus on my health, enjoy better meals, sleep more soundly, and be rejuvenated for each show. Perhaps this is the right path for me, and if it works well, I can continue this way.”
