‘Saw’ Sequel Launches Killer New 4K Steelbook Edition

While Saw XI is taking a bit of time to get off the ground after franchise creator James Wan got the rights back to the franchise, Jigsaw has been keeping his presence known in the horror community. Whether it be with collectibles or fresh death trap of physical media editions, Saw fans have had a lot to scream about. Now, ahead of the spooky season, the first Saw sequel is getting a killer new 4K edition.

Saw II will be coming to the premium format for the first time thanks to Lionsgate with a 4K/Blu-ray/Digital combo pack steelbook. The release will feature fresh artwork of Tobin Bell‘s Jigsaw in his iconic black-and-red robe. He’s wearing a respirator, hinting at the twist of the film that would affect the rest of the franchise going forward. The edition will be an Amazon exclusive and be $34.99 USD.

Key Takeaways

Saw II Release: The film is being released for the first time in 4K format.
Exclusive Edition: The 4K/Blu-ray/Digital combo pack will be available exclusively on Amazon.
Artwork Feature: New artwork features Jigsaw in his iconic look.
Release Date: The edition is set to release on October 21, 2025.

Do You Want to Play a Game?

While the original 2004 Wan classic set the tone for Jigsaw and his deadly games, the iconic horror villain was barely in it. He was simply relegated to a third act final moment twist in the first film. That wasn’t the case with Saw II. The second film, which wasn’t originally a Saw film at all, had eight people trapped in an abandoned house. One of those ill-fated victims was Shawnee Smith’s Amanda Young from Jigsaw’s first onscreen outing. The police are on Jigsaw’s tail, but it’s revealed that the killer is dying of cancer. The police and the people trapped in the house have to play along if they want to survive.

Even though Saw II only has a 38% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the film made over $147 million worldwide on a small $4 million budget. That meant the Saw franchise was here to stay and secured a yearly release until Saw 3D, aka The Final Chapter, in 2010. With the major success of Saw X in 2023, Jigsaw has been keeping busy in-between films with new Funko Pops, action figures from NECA, and frightening apparel collections. Saw III and Saw IV will also be getting new 4K Amazon exclusive steelbooks alongside Saw II this fall.

Where Can You Stream ‘Saw II’?

Saw II is currently streaming on The Roku Channel. Before your next Saw marathon begins, you can pre-order Saw II’s 4K steelbook on Amazon. The edition will be released on October 21, 2025, just in time for Halloween. Lionsgate also previously released the original Saw on 4K with a slipcover and steelbook in 2021.
