Shark Horror Movie Starring Jai Courtney Now Streaming on Hulu


The acclaimed creature feature from Independent Film Company, starring Jai Courtney from Suicide Squad, has finally secured a new streaming platform, nearly a year after its world premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. As of today, Courtney’s survival horror film Dangerous Animals is officially available for streaming on Hulu.

What do we know about Jai Courtney’s Dangerous Animals?

In Dangerous Animals, Courtney portrays a serial killer who employs sharks to eliminate his victims. The cast also features Hassie Harrison, Josh Heuston, Rob Carlton, Ella Newton, James Munn, Michael Goldman, Jon Quested, Liam Greinke, and others. Since its release, the film has achieved a Certified Fresh rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 181 reviews.

“When Zephyr, a rebellious surfer, is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and held captive on his boat, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below,” reads the official synopsis.

The film from 2025 was directed by Sean Byrne with a screenplay by Nick Lepard. Executive producers include Fred Berger, Michael Glassman, Mehrdod Heydari, Marlaina Mah, Jacob Yakob, and Joseph Yakob. Producers are Chris Ferguson, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Mickey Liddell, Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, and Pete Shilaimon.

In addition to Dangerous Animals, Courtney was featured in last year’s Australian fantasy comedy The Fox. He most recently starred in Netflix’s sci-fi action thriller War Machine alongside Alan Ritchson and Dennis Quaid. He is currently set to star in the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off Dutton Ranch, which will feature returning stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser.
