She-Hulk star Tatiana Maslany has humorously addressed rumors suggesting she declined future MCU roles.
Maslany portrays Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk in Marvel Television’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series. Although there has been no official confirmation regarding a second season of She-Hulk, speculation about her next appearance in the MCU continues to circulate online.
This week, insider MyTimeToShineHello reported, “Marvel Studios intended to feature She-Hulk prominently in Avengers Secret Wars. The issue is that Tatiana Maslany is not interested in working for Disney. If they cannot persuade her to come back, they may have to eliminate the character or recast the role.”
The Beyond Reporter also stated, “It appears Tatiana Maslany is no longer associated with Marvel.”
What did Tatiana Maslany say about She-Hulk?
In a recent episode of the Comedy Comedy Bang Bang podcast, Maslany addressed the situation, saying, “Disney has reached out to me about reprising my role as She-Hulk. Guys, I said no. Okay. Because I just did. These are the facts. They’re out there. You can read the articles about it. I was really upset with them for allowing me to sue them. For removing me from the movie. I was just angry, in general. Woke feminist stuff…I was like, ‘How dare you cast a woman in this role [of She-Hulk]? That’s disgusting. I’m embarrassed to even be here.”
Maslany is clearly being sarcastic and poking fun at rumors that lack factual basis. She made similar remarks on a prior episode of the same podcast when speculation arose that she was meant to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine but was dismissed from the project, leading to the aforementioned lawsuit, which also seems unfounded.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
