In a heartfelt revelation, Faster Pussycat frontman Taime Downe has spoken candidly for the first time about the heartbreaking loss of his fiancée, Kimberly Burch, who tragically passed away during a cruise. This unfortunate incident occurred while the cruise ship was en route to the Bahamas from Miami back in March. Reports indicate that the vessel made a turn to initiate a search for her, with support from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force aiding in the recovery efforts.
Days following the incident, The Hollywood Reporter released an article detailing that security footage from the ship allegedly captured Burch jumping overboard. She was only 56 years old at the time of her passing, leaving friends and family in shock.
Currently, Faster Pussycat is on their concert tour throughout the U.S., and during a recent segment on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk,” Downe opened up about the emotional turmoil he’s been experiencing since the tragic event.
“It’s been a roller coaster,” Taime shared, reflecting on his emotional state during this challenging time [via Blabbermouth]. “I’m trying to hang in there, taking it one day at a time. Everyone thought that getting back on the road and spending time with my band and family would be beneficial for me. I’ve taken their advice and I’m embracing this opportunity.”
Taime expressed hope that touring and reconnecting with friends and family across the country would serve as a form of therapy. He emphasized the importance of discussing the circumstances surrounding Burch’s death with those close to him, which has provided some solace during this devastating time.

Addressing concerns regarding his sobriety in light of his loss, he firmly stated, “There’s no way I’d touch booze. The thought of it is completely repulsive to me,” reaffirming his commitment to remain sober during this difficult period.
“I loved Kimberly deeply, and grappling with her loss has been incredibly challenging. We shared nearly nine years together,” he continued, conveying the weight of their shared experiences. “While I don’t want to delve into her mindset at that moment, it’s important to acknowledge the myriad factors that shape a person’s life at different stages. This loss has profoundly affected everyone who knew her.”
Faster Pussycat’s next concert is set for June 4 in Katy, Texas. For a full list of their upcoming performances, fans can visit their official website.
