Long live Tina Turner. The powerhouse vocalist—whose voice electrified classics like “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” “Private Dancer,” “Simply The Best,” “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” and the definitive rendition of “Proud Mary”—passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 83. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner,” her official social media channels shared at the time.
According to Deadline, Tina died after a long illness at her home in Küsnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland.
Tragically, the Turner family faced another loss in October 2025 when Tina’s adopted son, Ike Turner Jr., died at 67 following kidney failure.
Tina’s influence as the Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll will forever be felt.
