Flogging Molly has recently released an important statement regarding Dave King’s serious health condition, which unfortunately resulted in the cancellation of the band’s tour earlier this February. The announcement shed light on the challenges King faced, emphasizing the need for privacy during this critical time.
In their initial communication, the band disclosed that King was grappling with a very serious health issue, prompting both him and his wife, Bridget Regan, to request some space as they navigated this difficult journey. Consequently, the band decided to cancel all their 2025 tour dates, although members still intended to participate in the beloved annual Salty Dog Cruise alongside fellow musicians.
Bridget has since provided a heartfelt update, clarifying the nature of King’s health challenges while expressing optimism about his recovery.
Bridget Regan Shares Vital Update on Dave King’s Recovery Journey
In her recent post, Regan disclosed that King experienced a brain hemorrhage on January 24, requiring him to undergo two critical surgeries to save his life. This ordeal led to him spending two weeks in a coma, followed by a third surgery aimed at facilitating his recovery process.
Regan took this opportunity to express her profound gratitude to the dedicated physicians and medical staff who provided exceptional care for King. She also extended her thanks to the friends and family members who have shown unwavering support and sent their well-wishes throughout these challenging months.

Her heartfelt message, which she shared on the X social media platform, is included below.
Hi everyone,
I’ve been wanting to reach out for some time, but it was essential to wait until we felt we were safely out of the woods.
On January 24th, Dave suffered a brain hemorrhage and underwent two subsequent surgeries to save his life. He spent two weeks in a coma, followed by various stages of treatment and recovery. On February 28th, he had yet another surgery, and I now feel optimistic that we are on the other side of this.
He is now entering the next phase of his recovery and is eager to return to making music. While the road ahead remains uncertain, we are prepared to face any challenges and hope to reunite with all of you soon.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dave’s neurosurgeon, Mr. Kieron Sweeney, and his incredible team at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. Thank you for saving my husband’s life.
To all the nurses and staff in both St. Brigid’s and Richmond Wards, your extraordinary level of care has been pivotal in getting him to where he is today. Thank you.
Additionally, I want to extend heartfelt thanks to our friends and family who have been a constant source of support during this ordeal and to everyone who sent their well-wishes and messages of encouragement.
Please take care of one another and make sure to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Life can change in an instant.
Until we meet again,
Bridget
The timing of this announcement brings a wave of good news just as many fans would typically be celebrating the vibrant music of Flogging Molly during St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
Here at Loudwire, we extend our warmest wishes to Dave King, Bridget Regan, and the entire Flogging Molly family during this time of recovery and healing.
