Skin Cancer Diagnosis Revealed by Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay is sharing details about his health struggle.

Along with a pair of photos displaying a line of stitches from the bottom of his ear to his jaw, which he later covered with a bandage, the British celebrity chef revealed that he recently had a procedure to address skin cancer.

“I am grateful and deeply appreciative for the amazing team at The Skin Associates and their quick response in removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma,” Gordon posted on Instagram on Aug. 30. “Please remember to use your sunscreen this weekend.”

Basal cell carcinoma is a form of skin cancer that results from prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight, according to the Mayo Clinic, and often appears as a slightly transparent bump on the skin.

“I assure you it’s not a facelift,” the 54-year-old added. “I’d need a refund…”

While the Kitchen Nightmares star—who has children Megan, 27, Jack, 25, Holly, 25, Matilda, 23, Oscar, 6, and Jesse, 21 months, with wife Tana Ramsay—has maintained an optimistic and humorous perspective on the situation, his friends and family have shown their support in the comments.
