Snoop Dogg Responds to Kendrick Lamar’s Name-Drop

Snoop Dogg is making it abundantly clear that he holds no animosity towards Kendrick Lamar, despite recent speculation regarding their relationship.

In a candid moment during his appearance on The Breakfast Club, Snoop Dogg was queried about his reaction to being mentioned in the opening track of Kendrick Lamar’s latest album, GNX. Lamar commented, “Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made,’ I prayed it was the edibles/ I couldn’t believe it, it was only right for me to let it go.” This mention raised eyebrows, prompting Snoop to clarify his stance.

When co-host Charlamagne Tha God inquired if Snoop had reached out to Kendrick after hearing his name in “wacced out murals,” the iconic West Coast artist simply responded, “For what? What’s there to talk about?” His nonchalant reply indicated a desire to keep the peace and avoid unnecessary drama.

Snoop Dogg continued to express his views, emphasizing that his repost of “Taylor Made Freestyle” was an honest mistake, and he acknowledged that Kendrick had every right to express his feelings. “That’s my lil’ homie. He spoke his mind. He said what he said,” Snoop stated. He further elaborated that once he became aware of the situation, he promptly contacted Kendrick, saying, ‘My bad, I didn’t mean that.’ It was clear that he respected Kendrick’s response, indicating a mutual understanding.

The seasoned rapper explained that such misunderstandings, especially among family, tend to resolve themselves quickly. He remarked, “We family. You can’t have a spat or misunderstanding with your brother or your cousin? That’s how it’s supposed to be.” Snoop emphasized that conflicts should remain minor and be easily understood. “See, a big dawg could get checked if it’s by the right person with the right intellect. There’s nothing wrong with getting properly put in place if you’re out of place. That’s what’s wrong with half of us — that we feel like the young generation can’t tell us nothin’,” he added, highlighting the importance of open communication across generations.

Snoop responded with enthusiasm, stating, “That’s what love makes you do,” showcasing his supportive nature regarding relationships in the entertainment industry.

Snoop Dogg also shared a captivating tale about an unforgettable experience he had while smoking with Ed Sheeran and Russell Crowe during a trip to Australia. “Yes, me, Ed Sheeran, and Russell Crowe were in Australia,” he recounted after a fan inquired about the veracity of the story. “I took them to a place no one has ever been to before, and brother Ed forgot how to sing, he forgot how to play instruments. But, I mean, I love doing things like that. I love to get people high,” he shared, illustrating his fun-loving personality and penchant for unforgettable experiences.
