“Clearly, fans are eagerly anticipating fresh content from us.”
On Thursday, May 22, Breaking Benjamin guitarist Keith Wallen made an appearance on Loudwire Nights. You can enjoy the complete conversation in the audio player located near the end of this article.

During the interview, Wallen delved into his latest solo track, “Us Against the World,” and also revealed exciting updates about the forthcoming music from Breaking Benjamin.
“We communicate in a cryptic way, filled with smoke and mirrors,” Wallen humorously remarked to host Chuck Armstrong regarding the band’s anticipated full-length album. This playful comment reflects the band’s creative process and their desire to keep fans intrigued.
“The truth is — we have taken considerable time to craft this music because we genuinely want it to be exceptional. Our love for our fans drives us to ensure they cherish what we produce, and we have no desire to deliver anything less than our best,” he emphasized sincerely.
Wallen acknowledged the patience exhibited by fans throughout this waiting period and confidently assured them that they will not be disappointed when new music from Breaking Benjamin is finally unveiled, especially following the success of last year’s single, “Awaken.”
“Yes, it’s taking longer than expected, but sometimes you have to be patient for quality material,” he stated firmly.
“‘Awaken’ surpassed our expectations. We were deeply thankful and genuinely thrilled by the overwhelming response to our first new track,” he expressed with sincerity.
As he discussed this, Wallen felt compelled to address a misconception he often sees circulating among fans online.

“I want to clarify that my solo projects do not interfere with the creative process of Breaking Benjamin,” he stated matter-of-factly.
“Sometimes I’ll release a solo track and people comment, ‘You’re wasting time on this; we want Breaking Ben!’ which I find quite rude… but I understand their sentiment. However, it has no bearing on our band’s efforts.”
Key Insights from Keith Wallen’s Discussion on Loudwire Nights
- Importance of “Us Against the World”: “I’ve held onto this song for a while. It didn’t quite fit the Infinity Now album, but it’s something I truly cherish. I’m incredibly proud of it. I actually wrote it during the COVID-19 pandemic when we were all stuck at home, grappling with the state of the world. It inspired me to create something meaningful.”
- Challenges of Releasing Solo Music: “I find that I need to continuously release music to stay relevant and maintain visibility in a saturated market. With countless new releases happening every second, it’s easy for artists to be forgotten. I must remind everyone, ‘Hey, I’m still here. Here’s a new song for you to enjoy.’
- Motivation Behind Solo and Band Projects: “I recognize that there will come a time when I can no longer perform music, play guitar, or sing. Right now, I possess the capability to do all of these things adequately, so I’m seizing the moment to create while I still can.”
