Candace Cameron Bure candidly shares the transformative moment when her marriage to Valeri Bure was revitalized by their son, Lev.
In a recent episode of her podcast, the 49-year-old Full House star opened up about a particularly challenging period in her marriage that coincided with the global pandemic in 2020.
“Val and I faced an incredibly tumultuous season in our relationship during 2020, especially when the pandemic struck,” she confessed, reflecting on the stress that engulfed their lives. “It felt like everything was unraveling rapidly, and we found ourselves questioning if we could survive this crisis.”
“At one pivotal moment, our son Lev delivered a profound 45-minute sermon on the essence of marriage. He sat on the couch with his Bible open, passionately discussing the topic,” she recalled, highlighting how unexpected guidance can come from the most unlikely sources. [our son]

“I’ll always remember his words, as he said, ‘I may not have been married and I’m just a young kid. So, it’s probably hard to take marriage advice from someone my age who hasn’t experienced it. But I understand what the word of God teaches about relationships,’” she elaborated, emphasizing the wisdom that can be found in faith.
Candace and Valeri, who tied the knot in 1996 after being introduced by her Full House co-star Dave Coulier at a charity hockey event, have navigated the challenges of parenthood together. They are proud parents to two other children: Natasha, 26, and Maksim, 23, who were also part of this meaningful family discussion.
Today, Lev is 25 years old and continues to be a source of inspiration for his family.
She reflected on how Lev served as a calming presence, imparting wisdom that made her and her husband reconsider their parenting approach, leaving them with the thought, “We’ve raised some really remarkable kids.”
“It was undeniably a significant turning point for us — that conversation changed everything. The dynamic shifts when your children confront you, asking, ‘Are you acting as maturely as you should?’ I am incredibly thankful for Lev, Maks, and Natasha,” she concluded with heartfelt appreciation. “Their unwavering support has meant the world to us.”
Additionally, she expressed her belief that watching horror films could open a gateway to something “demonic,” highlighting her concerns about the influence of media.
