The fan-favorite Spy x Family series may have garnered a dedicated fan base during its three-season run, but this doesn’t seem to have guaranteed a Season 4 for the anime. The show, which draws inspiration from Tatsuya Endo’s manga series of the same name, recently concluded its third season without an announcement for a follow-up.

Spy x Family Season 4 expected to be announced in late 2026

In a surprising turn of events, TV Tokyo has refrained from officially renewing Spy x Family for a fourth season. While many expected an update to come out following the release of the Season 3 finale last week, the official X (formerly Twitter) page of the anime instead announced a special event, set to take place on November 8, 2026.

Titled SPY×FAMILY ANIME EXTRA MISSION Ⅱ, the event will feature a number of the anime’s Japanese-language voice actors, including Takuya Eguchi (Loid Forger), Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger), Saori Hayami (Yor Forger), Kenichirou Matsuda (Bond Forger), Kensho Ono (Yuri Briar), Ayane Sakura (Fiona Frost), Natsumi Fujiwara (Damian Desmond), and Emiri Kato (Becky Blackbell).

While it remains unclear as to what the event will entail, many expect a production update regarding Spy x Family Season 4 to be mentioned. Fans who wish to attend the event in Tokyo can do so by purchasing the Spy x Family Season 3 Vol 2 Blu-ray or DVD, which comes out on May 20, 2026. The package will include instructions and an application form for priority sales of event tickets.

Despite the lack of an official release date for Spy x Family Season 4, the events of Season 3, which built upon the relationship between Anya Forger and Damien Desmond while also shedding light on Loid Forger’s troubled childhood, indicate that the show’s creators have planned for the series to continue.

Provided that the November 2026 event does include an update regarding Season 4’s production status, the installment could debut sometime in 2027, at the earliest.
