The highly anticipated Brotherhood of Rock tour, featuring Styx, REO Speedwagon‘s Kevin Cronin, and former Eagles guitarist Don Felder, launched its first performance on Wednesday night in Greenville, SC, delivering an electrifying evening filled with beloved classic rock anthems. Fans were treated to an unforgettable experience, celebrating the rich history of rock music.
For those eager to relive the experience, fan-shot video footage and a comprehensive set list for each of the featured artists can be found below, showcasing the incredible range of talent on stage.
Styx kicked off their performance with a remarkable, complete presentation of their iconic 1977 album The Grand Illusion, which includes timeless hits like “Come Sail Away” and “Fooling Yourself (Angry Young Man).” This full-album performance not only delighted long-time fans but also showcased the band’s enduring musical legacy.
In an exciting addition to their set, Styx debuted their new single “Build and Destroy” live for the first time. Earlier that day, they made a thrilling announcement regarding their upcoming avian-themed concept album, Circling From Above, which will be available for purchase at their summer concerts and is set to launch on streaming platforms on July 18.
After a tumultuous period, Cronin is embarking on his first significant tour since a public and challenging fallout with bassist Bruce Hall, which led him to step away from the REO Speedwagon name. The freshly renamed band maintains the same lineup of talented musicians that he toured with last summer, ensuring a seamless transition for fans.
The Kevin Cronin Band also commenced their performance by playing a classic album in its entirety, specifically REO’s 1980 classic Hi Infidelity. The band concluded their electrifying show with a dynamic medley of radio hits like “Can’t Fight This Feeling” and a newly fitting rendition of “Roll With the Changes,” ensuring the audience remained engaged and entertained throughout the night.
Don Felder opened the evening, performing a set primarily featuring songs from his illustrious career with the Eagles. He also treated the audience to his new single “I Like the Things You Do” alongside his celebrated 1981 hit “Heavy Metal (Takin’ a Ride),” showcasing his versatility and ability to connect with fans.
The Brotherhood of Rock tour is set to continue its journey on Friday night at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, with plans to wrap up on August 24 in Milwaukee. For detailed show and ticket information, fans can visit StyxWorld.com.
