The iconic band Counting Crows has unveiled exciting plans for their 2025 Complete Sweets Tour, which will feature a robust lineup of summer tour dates across the U.S., with the Gaslight Anthem as their special guest. This much-anticipated tour will kick off on June 10 in Nashville, Tennessee, and will see the band performing live until November 1, when they conclude their journey in London, UK. Fans eager to catch the band live can purchase tickets starting Friday, March 14, with a special presale for dedicated fans available beginning on March 11. For further details and ticket information, please visit the official Counting Crows website.
The upcoming tour is in support of their latest album, Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets!, which marks the band’s first complete studio album release in over a decade. They previously teased this project with the release of Butter Miracle, Suite One in 2021, which showcased songs that frontman and songwriter Adam Duritz crafted during the challenging times of the pandemic. In an interview with UCR, Duritz shares how the album’s concept evolved from that initial suite, stating, “You know, when I wrote the suite, it was just a challenge to do this kind of musical composition, of these songs that flow through each other.” His passion for this creative endeavor shines through as he reflects on the process and intention behind the music.

As Duritz elaborates, “I wanted to try to write this kind of a composition, and I was very excited about doing it and it was hard.” He conveys his satisfaction with the results but also emphasizes that the suite was only part of a larger vision. “There was never any intention to do anything other than that,” he explains. This creative journey motivated him to write additional songs to complete a full album, which he accomplished while staying at a friend’s farm in England.
Drawing Musical Inspiration from Legends: Bruce Springsteen and The Beatles
While creating the songs for Butter Miracle, Suite One, Duritz drew inspiration from a variety of musical influences. He reflects on his early love for bands like Genesis but acknowledges other significant inspirations that shaped his writing process. “I think [it was] informed by the second side of Abbey Road [by The Beatles], you know, the huge medley, and [also], the first side of [Bruce Springsteen’s] The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle,” he muses. His creative process was not solely influenced by progressive rock but also by the fluidity and storytelling found in these classic albums, which contributed to the cohesive sound of his new work.
The full album, Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets!, is set to be released on May 9 through BMG, promising to deliver a fresh yet nostalgic experience for fans of Counting Crows.
