Renowned musician John Oates has officially announced the highly anticipated follow-up to his successful 2024 album, Reunion. This summer, he will introduce a brand-new band, with exciting performances scheduled in major cities like New York City, Los Angeles, and Nashville, among others. Additionally, acclaimed singer-songwriter Devon Gilfillian, who shares a deep connection to Philadelphia with Oates, co-wrote two tracks titled “Real Thing” and “Mending.” The latter also showcases a vocal duet with Gilfillian, providing a rich and collaborative sound.

In this new project, Oates delves into his passion for the enchanting bossa nova rhythms of Antonio Carlos Jobim with a track called “Dreaming Of Brazil,” featuring the stunning vocals of Wendy Moten. Another noteworthy track, “Bajo La Luz De La Luna,” was specially written for the feature film Gringa, which is set against the vibrant backdrop of Mexico. The album wraps up with Oates’ rendition of the timeless classic “Walking In Memphis,” originally a Grammy-nominated hit by Marc Cohn that reached the Top 15 in 1991.

The recording of Oates took place primarily in the vibrant city of Nashville, with the collaboration of returning multi-platinum co-producer David Kalmusky, ensuring that the sound quality and production values meet the high standards fans have come to expect from Oates.
