Sundance Head Reveals His Accidental Shooting Experience

Jason “Sundance” Head Opens Up About a Life-Altering Incident is sharing details about a terrifying experience.

Just days after experiencing a near-fatal incident that resulted in him being hospitalized for a gunshot wound to the stomach, the Voice winner?who gained fame during season 11 of the popular reality competition?shared his harrowing story regarding this life-threatening experience. The incident unfolded while he was preparing for a solo hunting trip at his Texas ranch, highlighting the often-overlooked risks associated with firearm safety during outdoor activities.

“I started loading the Jeep to go to the other side of the property and put everything I needed in there,” Sundance recalled in a video shared to his Facebook on November 18. “Last thing to do was grab my backpack, and I travel all the time with a revolver in it. It’s old school and looks just like the kind of gun you would see in a western movie.” This reflects the importance of understanding how to handle firearms responsibly, especially when transporting them for recreational purposes.

However, the 46-year-old inadvertently neglected to secure the firearm properly within its holster. While placing the bag in his passenger seat, the gun fell out of its designated spot, illustrating a critical lesson in firearm safety.

“I set it down, and I backed up to walk away and I was shocked,” Sundance continued. “It happened that fast. And what happened was that revolver slid out of the case, and it hit the door jamb on the Jeep, on the floor step, and it shot me.” This shocking incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers associated with improperly secured firearms, underscoring the need for vigilance and care when handling weapons.
