On top of the possible stolen glance or two on the ER floor, Supriya shared that her character is much more on board with the arrival of Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi) than Dr. Robby, who in season two is preparing for a sabbatical.
“They have similar views on what medicine should be, what the hospital should be, what they want to change in the hospital,” she teased. “There is a part of Samira that’s maybe a little bit excited for Dr. Al-Hashimi to take over, because I think they’re just more aligned as characters.”
Overall, Supriya is most excited for fans to see how Dr. Mohan comes into her own in season two. (Ahead of the premiere, HBO Max confirmed that a third season is on the way.)
“She’s definitely more confident,” she added. “She feels like the ER is her place at the start of the season. I tried to make choices and her just being more relaxed in the environment to really communicate that.”
Of course, no hour at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center is the same. As Supriya hinted, “She’s definitely doubting herself less, whether that lasts for the rest of the day remains to be seen.”
