Recently, System of a Down captivated fans by performing five songs live for the first time in over a decade during two electrifying concerts in South America. These performances marked a significant return for the band, reigniting the passion of their dedicated fan base.
The first exhilarating show took place on April 24 in Bogota, Colombia, marking their first live appearance since August 2024. They kicked off the concert with the iconic Toxicity track “Arto,” a song that had not graced the stage since April 2015 [via Setlist.fm]. Following this, they performed “Attack,” a fan favorite that hadn’t been played live for nearly ten years, last appearing in October 2015.
During this memorable show, System of a Down also revived “Marmalade,” which fans hadn’t heard live in a decade, along with “Streamline,” making its long-awaited return after two decades. They also performed several other classics, including “Violent Pornography,” “A.D.D.,” and “Roulette,” though these tracks had not been absent from the setlist for as long as the others.
Just three nights later, the rock legends took to the stage again in Lima, Peru, where they introduced even more nostalgic tracks into their setlist. Notably, “36” was performed live for the first time since 2002, and “Mind” made its live debut since 2011. Additionally, “Pictures” and “Highway Song” were included in the set, both of which had not been played in several years.

Bassist Shavo Odadjian hinted earlier this year that the band intended to “drastically” revamp their setlists throughout this tour, and it appears they are staying true to that promise, delivering a unique experience for fans.
System of a Down currently has six more shows scheduled for this South American tour, with plans to kick off six additional performances in North America beginning in late August. Tickets for these highly anticipated shows are available on the band’s official website.
