One of the best aspects of the music from Talking Heads is that they maintain a sound that is distinctly their own.
Ultimate Classic Rock Nights offers you the opportunity to discover how it all started with the New York band’s debut album, Talking Heads: ’77. One fortunate winner will receive a copy of the super deluxe box set from Rhino Entertainment. This expanded edition of the classic album, released in September 1977, includes an entire disc of additional outtakes and rarities, along with a recording of their final performance at CBGB’s less than a month after the album’s release.
With over three hours of content, this set also features a stunning 80-page hardcover book containing new liner notes from Tina Weymouth, David Byrne, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison. Their memories are complemented by rare and unreleased photos of the band and memorabilia from that era.
This limited edition box set also includes reproductions (with picture sleeves) of the four Sire Records 7” singles from Talking Heads: ’77, which are “Love → Building on Fire / New Feeling”, “Uh-Oh, Love Comes To Town / I Wish You Didn’t Say That”, “Psycho Killer / Psycho Killer (Acoustic)”, and “Pulled Up / Don’t Worry About The Government.”
To enter for your chance to win the grand prize, simply submit your name, email, and phone number in the entry form at the top of this page. You will also be added to UCR’s daily newsletter mailing list. Additional fans will be chosen to receive other Talking Heads merchandise. The contest concludes on September 22, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST.
