You may recall that Huston previously uploaded a video in August showcasing the award he received for winning during the July men’s street skateboarding competition. The footage revealed that the medal had already begun to peel and chip, raising concerns about its condition.
Fortunately, Huston has announced that the medal is currently in the process of being “fixed up,” which is great news for his fans and supporters who admire his dedication to the sport.
“They’ll repair the original medal,” Huston informed us. “I believe that is a lot cooler than simply replacing it since I would still like to have my original medal as a reminder of my achievement,” he expressed, showcasing his sentimental attachment to the award.
He did mention, however, that he wasn’t overly concerned about the damage to the medal, showing his resilient attitude towards the situation.
“I was still down for the roughed-up version,” he explained, indicating his laid-back perspective on the wear and tear of his Olympic accolade.
In addition, Huston shared his aspirations this week, expressing his desire to add another Olympic medal to his impressive collection. He aims to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Games, even though he will be 33 years old at that time.
“I can’t say that I will be going out there expecting to win another medal,” he acknowledged. “However, I will do everything I can to stay healthy leading up to the event and work on some new tricks to keep up with the younger competitors in the field,” showcasing his commitment to continuous improvement in the sport.
