The college football team deleted a post mocking Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s engagement after receiving backlash.
In a now-deleted post shared on X after the University of Nebraska team defeated Travis’ alma mater, the University of Cincinnati, in an Aug. 28 game attended by the NFL star and his fiancée, the couple’s engagement photo was altered to feature the team’s mascot Herbie Husker, showing the Grammy winner embracing him in an almost-kiss with her hand on his face.
Accompanying the altered image, the Nebraska Huskers wrote, “Change of plans.”
In response to this message, many fans voiced their disappointment over the “gross” joke, prompting the team to remove it entirely.
“Wow, Nebraska. Such an inconsiderate post,” one user commented on X. “Congrats on the win but keep Taylor out of this you pieces of garbage!”
