Now that Season 6 of The Chosen is officially completed, with filming concluding last week in Texas, audiences can begin to anticipate the influx of promotional material and updates leading up to its eventual release. However, if 2026 feels a bit too distant, the series’ creator, Dallas Jenkins, has just the solution to tide you over. Today, Collider is excited to present the exclusive first look at The Chosen Adventures, an animated interpretation of the story of Jesus that’s suitable for the entire family. Featuring the vocal talents of Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird), Jordin Sparks (Left Behind), Yvonne Orji (Insecure), and the familiar voice of The Chosen’s Jonathan Roumie, who reprises his role as Jesus, the series promises to deliver plenty of light-heartedness while recounting well-known stories from the Bible.
The trailer for The Chosen Adventures introduces viewers to our young protagonist, Abby (Romy Fay), who spends her days frolicking around the ancient city of Capernaum with her best friend Joshua (Jude Zarzaur), her sheep (Hauser), and a pigeon (Orji). The quartet soon encounters Jesus (Roumie), who is kneeling in prayer when his visitors arrive at his doorstep. Eager to learn, Abby isn’t hesitant about asking any questions to better understand her surroundings, and Jesus is more than willing to help. With her friends by her side and Jesus guiding their paths, Abby and her companions embark on colorful and endless adventures while occasionally getting into a bit of trouble.
Roumie isn’t the only member of the live-action series whose voice and character will appear in the vibrant world of The Chosen Adventures. Others like Elizabeth Tabish, Paras Patel, Noah James, George H. Xanthis, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Brandon Potter, and Joey Vahedi are set to reprise their characters in animated form. Additionally, the cast includes Danny Nucci (Titanic), Omid Abtahi (The Boys), and Debi Derryberry (Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius).
What Is Next for ‘The Chosen’?
The conclusion is approaching for the Biblical series that captivated Prime Video audiences, with Season 6 serving as the penultimate installment of The Chosen. Already positioning itself for financial success and high viewership numbers, the title is planning a cinematic takeover for the Season 6 finale, which will focus on the crucifixion, and the Season 7 premiere, which will depict the resurrection. Furthermore, Jenkins and his team are actively working on a prequel series titled Joseph of Egypt, which will follow the Old Testament story of this significant figure.
Check out the exclusive first look at The Chosen Adventures above and enjoy the fun when it premieres on Prime Video on October 17.
