Emma’s secret is that she planned a mass shooting in high school but abandoned the idea after witnessing how a separate school shooting affected her community. She then became an advocate for gun control. The revelation, however, shocks the group of friends, primarily Rachel, whose cousin was paralyzed in a shooting. Charlie is, of course, stunned and starts distancing himself from his fiancée.
