The Initiation Trailer Released, Set for October Launch

Recently, we discovered that the highly regarded filmmaker Dustin Ferguson, known for his impressive portfolio of over 150 movies, is set to commence filming for the latest installment in the iconic Witchcraft horror franchise. The film, titled Witchcraft XVII: The Initiation, is scheduled to begin production this month, with talented actress Ivy Smith stepping into the lead role of Maya Reed. Smith has previously showcased her skills in projects like Lust, Magic, and the Witches’ Sabbath as well as Attack of the 50 Foot CamGirl and Giantess Battle Attack, both produced by Full Moon Productions. The aim is to have the completed film ready for release on October 1st, and early indications suggest that this deadline will be met, especially since a trailer has already been released online. You can view the trailer in the embedded video above.

Joining Smith in this exciting cast is Jennifer Moriarty from Big Bad CGI Monsters, portraying the role of Grand High Witch Cecilia Valemore. Other notable cast members include Heart Hays as Katherine from Amityville Emanuelle, Jorel Jacob Diez as Jack from Cocaine Cougar, and Sammy Morningstar as Talia from Night of the Dead Sorority Babes. Additionally, Hennessey Moriarty will play Jo from Mary-Day and the Scream Queens, while Ted Hoffstatter appears as Lenny in the film. Joe Sbar will portray William Spanner during a flashback set in 1692, alongside Stephanie Gurnoe, who will reprise her role as Grand High Witch Cecilia Valemore in this same flashback. Lastly, DieTrich Thrall will take on the character of Xavier. The franchise’s main hero, William Spanner, will be portrayed by Andrew Pierson, known for his work in Blood on the Bleachers.

In an interview with HorrorNews, Pierson expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Witchcraft series, stating, “I grew up on this series. To become part of Witchcraft’s twisted mythology—and play William Spanner—is a full-circle moment. I’m here to honor the past… and burn the future.” Notably, Andrew Pierson and Carissa Pierson are also taking on the roles of executive producers for the film, showcasing their commitment to the project.
