The Last Airbender Season 2 Trailer Released

It’s been less than 24 hours since Netflix debuted the first official look at Toph in Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2, but now the show has taken things to another level. The streamer has released the first teaser trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2, and while no firm release date has been announced, we finally have confirmation that the series will return next year. Fans have been waiting patiently for news about the second season of the hit adaptation, and the trailer has given them plenty of things to talk about while everyone waits for the premiere.

Not only does the first trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 show the best look at Toph (Miya Cech), but it also shows off returning members of the Aang gang, such as Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawentiio), and Sokka (Ian Ousley). When Netflix released the poster yesterday, fans were quick to point out how much Cormier has aged since Season 1. Where he once paled in size to both Sokka and Katara, he now stands even with them and generally looks much older. This will likely be explained with some sort of time jump, as aging child actors often are.

The first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix was a success, especially compared to the failed live-action movie from M. Night Shyamalan. Passionate fans of the animated series were quick to point out some flaws, including the complete lack of waterbending from Aang in Season 1, but these are things that will almost certainly be addressed in Season 2. The show is also returning for a third season, which has already wrapped filming and will likely premiere in 2027.

What Happens in ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Season 2?

Avatar: The Last Airbender, both the original animated series and the live-action show, are split into three chapters, or seasons. The first focuses on Aang’s journey to get to the Northern Water Tribe and teach Aang waterbending, while the second follows finding an earthbending teacher. He finds his teacher in Toph, but the Aang gang also continues to fight off Zuko and Azula, along with disturbing mysteries in the Earth Kingdom capital, Ba Sing Se. Plenty of trouble, fun, and adventure is in store in the long-awaited second season.
