The Rockford Files Reboot Pilot Marks David Boreanaz’s TV Comeback

David Boreanaz Sets TV Return with 'The Rockford Files' Reboot Pilot

It’s been a year and a half since David Boreanaz was last on our TV screens, when the series finale of SEAL Team aired back in October 2024. Now, he’s setting his return in an exciting pilot!

The 56-year-old is set to lead NBC’s upcoming reboot of The Rockford Files.

James Garner starred in the original NBC series in the 1970s.

Variety reports that in the pilot, “Newly paroled after doing time for a crime he didn’t commit, James Rockford returns to his life as a private investigator using his charm and wit to solve cases around Los Angeles. It doesn’t take long for his quest for legitimacy to land him squarely in the crosshairs of both local police and organized crime.”

In the reboot, Rockford is described as a “witty, world-weary and chronically broke private investigator whose charmingly gruff exterior masked a strong moral core.”

David is best known for his work on SEAL Team, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the spinoff Angel. Last year, he attended a Bones reunion event!
