BTS are standing strong.
The massively popular K-pop boy band is holding their own with “they don’t know ’bout us,” a self-empowered anthem from their new studio album Arirang, out on Friday (March 20).
The song addresses public perception versus their private reality, emphasizing their bond while staying true to their own identity.
““Those guys are special among Asians. Some kinda heroic beings, too hard to break’ / We can’t relate / We’re just seven people though / Ah, you said we changed? / We feel the same, s–t,” j-hope declares in Korean and English.
Fans have compared it to lyrics from his verse in 2019 track “Boy With Luv,” in which he says: “Everyone says that I used to be so little and now I became a hero / I say that something like destiny was never my thing.”
“Everybody hears the story that they wanna / They popped off ’cause of this one thing, I’m for sure / We just big boys, a.k.a. country kids / Just riding the wave, just shut up, shut up, oh,” V and Jung Kook declare in Korean and English.
