Guitarist Adam Jones revealed that Tool was initially hesitant to participate in the star-studded event. However, after discovering that three of the band’s four members had already agreed to perform separately with other artists at the concert, they decided to join in. “It hit me, and I said, ‘If the three of us are there – and I know Justin [Chancellor] will want to do it,'” Jones shared with Guitar World. “I went back to our people and said, ‘Why don’t we just do it? We’re all going to be there.’ That’s how it happened – and why it was announced later.”

Tool’s most recent album, Fear Inoculum, was released in 2019, marking a significant return after a long hiatus since their previous full-length album, 10,000 Days, which came out in 2006. The band’s evolution and commitment to their craft continue to resonate deeply with fans around the world.
