The Odyssey follows Odysseus, the legendary Greek king of Ithaca, as he embarks on a perilous journey home after the Trojan War. His adventures include encounters with mythical beings such as sirens and a witch-goddess while he strives to reunite with his wife, Penelope.
When Does Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey Come Out?

During a November 2025 interview with Empire, Nolan hinted that his upcoming film “truly contains all stories.”
“As a filmmaker, you’re looking for gaps in cinematic culture, things that haven’t been done before,” Nolan stated. “And what I saw is that all of this great mythological cinematic work that I had grown up with — Ray Harryhausen movies and others — I’d never seen that done with the sort of weight and credibility that an A-budget and a big Hollywood, IMAX production could achieve.”
Who Is in The Odyssey Cast?
Damon leads the cast as Odysseus, accompanied by co-stars Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Tom Holland as Telemachus (Odysseus’s son), Robert Pattinson as Antinous, Zendaya as Athena, and Charlize Theron as Circe.
The extensive cast also includes Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Mia Goth, Will Yun Lee, and Bill Irwin.
