Key Testimony from FBI Agent During Court Hearing
According to a report from the Houston Chronicle, FBI agent Deborah Cline testified on Thursday, May 1, alleging that Price paid $1,400 to John Lee Price and Armani Williams to ignite a fire at Bar 5015. This establishment was owned by Steven Rogers, a former business partner at Turkey Leg Hut. Agent Cline indicated that the motive for this act was rooted in a personal grudge over an unsuccessful business venture. Cline revealed that Lyndell Price had recruited the two men to soak the bar’s entrance ramp in gasoline and set it ablaze as a means to settle their scores.
Additionally, there were further revelations. Lee Price, once an employee at Turkey Leg Hut, had cooperated with the FBI during a significant 2023 Mississippi drug bust. He admitted to setting the bar on fire under the instructions of Lyndell Price. Cline testified that Lee previously informed investigators that Turkey Leg Hut was being used as a front for an expansive marijuana operation, with substantial quantities of marijuana being hidden and transported within the restaurant’s packaging.
Threatening Messages from Turkey Leg Hut Owner to Bar 5015
Agent Cline asserted that Lyndell Price had been targeting Steven Rogers since 2019, the year Rogers acquired Bar 5015. Initially, Rogers intended to collaborate with Lyndell Price and his ex-wife, Nakia Holmes, but ultimately decided against it. This decision created considerable tension between the two men. When Lyndell Price later approached the bar with a “box of cash” in an attempt to invest, Rogers rejected his offer. Following this, Lyndell Price allegedly sent a series of texts to Rogers, ridiculing Bar 5015 for supposedly being a replica of Turkey Leg Hut. He ominously warned that the bar was on the verge of “blowing up.” Furthermore, law enforcement later raided Lyndell Price’s apartment, uncovering a significant cache of weapons, including a flamethrower and unregistered firearms.
Lyndell Price’s Legal Defense and His Estranged Wife’s Remarks
Lyndell Price has entered a not guilty plea to a three-count indictment that includes conspiracy to commit arson and the use of an interstate facility to set a vehicle on fire. After the hearing, the presiding judge determined that Lyndell Price should be held without the option of bond. In contrast, Williams and Lee Price were released, pending their upcoming court appearances.
In the meantime, Lyndell Price’s estranged wife shared with ESSENCE that she is focused on fiercely protecting her peace, her children, and their ongoing “healing journey.” She described the legal case as a personal nightmare and indicated that she had separated from Lyndell Price some time ago.
“In light of the recent events involving my estranged husband, Lynn Price, I want to make it clear that my primary focus remains on protecting my peace, my children, and our healing journey,” she stated. “This is a deeply painful and personal matter. I have been separated from Mr. Price for some time and have taken every necessary step to distance myself and my family from his actions and legal affairs. My children and I ask for privacy, compassion, and understanding as we continue to move forward with strength and grace. I will not be commenting further at this time, as my priority is the well-being of my family.”
