'Twisted Metal' Renewed for Season 3 at Peacock, Showrunner Exits

Peacock has renewed its series Twisted Metal for a third season.

Notably, co-creator Michael Jonathan Smith, who was also the showrunner for seasons 1 and 2, is leaving the show. David Reed will take over as showrunner and executive producer for season 3 as part of a deal with Sony Pictures Television.

According to the outlet, Twisted Metal season 2 racked up over 990 million minutes viewed to date, making it the streaming service’s “second biggest returning original scripted season.”

The series is based on the video game franchise known for its vehicular combat and it stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, Thomas Haden Church, and Anthony Carrigan.

Season 2 aired earlier this year, from July to August.
