Henry Cavill was the Man of Steel and The Witcher, and next, he’s taking over the Warhammer 40,000 world. The actor has given us numerous iconic roles across genres and has entertained fans worldwide. While Cavill is known for action-oriented roles that present him as a larger-than-life hero, some of his grounded films are gaining recognition on streaming platforms, including Night Hunter.
Night Hunter is gaining a lot of traction on Paramount+, where it has entered the top 10 charts at the fourth spot, according to FlixPatrol. The movie is only behind features like Heart Eyes, Novocaine, and Top Gun: Maverick. The 2018 crime thriller follows a police detective (Cavill) and a vigilante (Ben Kingsley), who are drawn into the case of a serial predator who abducts and murders young women. Things take a turn when their investigation leads to a seemingly simple-minded man, Simon Stulls, who is arrested but reveals a more dangerous conspiracy.
Written and directed by David Raymond, the movie was a bomb at the box office despite an illustrious cast and thrilling premise. Night Hunter divided critics and audiences, as seen in Rotten Tomatoes scores of 14% and 50%, respectively. For fans of Cavill, his performance guides the movie and makes it a decent title to revisit. Along with Cavill and Kingsley, the movie also features Alexandra Daddario as Rachel Chase, Stanley Tucci as Commissioner Harper, and Brendan Fletcher as Simon Stulls, along with Simon’s Twin Nomis Stulls. Further rounding off the cast are Minka Kelly as Angie, Nathan Fillion as Matthew Quinn, and Mpho Koaho as Glasow among others.
Where Will We See Henry Cavill Next?
Cavill has been seen in a variety of roles in recent years, from a Deadpool & Wolverine cameo to blood-filled The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, among others. While his fans were heartbroken when he hung up the Superman cape and Geralt’s sword, there’s plenty to look forward to. Cavill is joining the Warhammer 40,000 universe; he’s also working on a Highlander reboot, which recently got delayed due to the actor’s injury. While the feature was set to start filming this month, it’s now pushed to 2026. He’s also slated to appear in Enola Holmes 3, Ryan Enright‘s Squadron 42, and Voltron, among others.
Night Hunter is streaming on Paramount+. Check out the trailer above and stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
