This update has left fans curious about the album’s official release date and the identity of its lead single. In a playful social media caption, she remarked, “dont ask me where crack is rn,” hinting at the absence of the previously mentioned song “Crack” from the new list. Notably, “Turn the Lights On” has remained consistent, but several titles from the earlier list, including “Break My Heart,” “Take Me Dancing,” “Anything,” “Aint News,” “Slow Burn,” “Wood Holly,” “Did I Lie,” and “Appreciation,” have been omitted, further intensifying fans’ anticipation.
The current track list now boasts an exciting array of songs, including: “Turn the Lights On,” “Slide,” “One More Time,” “Make It Up,” “Lipstain,” “Kink,” “Jealous Type,” “I Like You,” “Happy,” “Gorgeous,” “Couples Therapy,” “Come Back,” “Cards,” “Amen,” “All Mine,” and “Acts of Service.” These titles not only showcase her diverse musical style but also hint at the intriguing themes that the album will explore.
Recently, fans captured a thrilling moment during an Instagram live session, where Doja Cat offered a preview of the infectious track “Jealous Type.” This song, reminiscent of Janet Jackson’s signature pop funk style, features an irresistible groove that invites listeners to dance. With lyrics that delve into complex emotions, she sings, “Boy, let me know if this is careless/ I could be torn between two roads that I just can’t decide/ Which one is leading me to hell or paradise?/ Baby, I can’t hurt you, sure, but I’m the jealous type/ I’m the jealous type,” showcasing her vocal prowess and lyrical depth.
In a previous update from March, Doja Cat also teased her fans with snippets of the emotionally charged tracks “Acts of Service” and “Lipstain.” Both songs promise to showcase her artistic evolution and ability to blend various genres, captivating her audience with their unique soundscapes and relatable lyrics.
Doja Cat’s previous album, 2023’s Scarlet, served as a compelling follow-up to her acclaimed 2021 release, Planet Her. Notably, Scarlet achieved impressive chart success, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the Top Rap Albums chart. Additionally, she released the deluxe edition titled Scarlet 2 CLAUDE in May. Earlier in the year, she collaborated with BLACKPINK’s LISA and RAYE on the song “Born Again,” as well as contributing to Jack Harlow’s track “Just Us,” further solidifying her position as a versatile and sought-after artist in the music industry.
