Volbeat Unveils 9th Album with Heavy New Track and Tour

The highly acclaimed band Volbeat has officially unveiled their much-anticipated new album, God of Angels Trust. This exciting announcement comes alongside the premiere of their captivating music video for the electrifying new single, “By a Monster’s Hand,” and a comprehensive list of worldwide tour dates that will thrill fans across the globe.

It’s an exhilarating time to be a Volbeat enthusiast!

The seasoned Danish rock group is set to release their ninth studio album, following the success of 2021’s Servant of the Mind, on June 6 through Vertigo/Universal. Once again, they have collaborated with their trusted producer Jacob Hansen, whose expertise is evident in the powerful new track that showcases the band’s signature heavy and punchy sound.

When discussing the songwriting and recording journey for this album, frontman Michael Poulsen shared insights about his creative process. He stated, “In the past, I’ve taken a long time to write and became overly focused on countless details before finalizing the songs. This time, I aimed to create a Volbeat album without overthinking it. I decided to abandon any conventional structure, telling myself, ‘There are no rules. I can start with a chorus or create songs composed solely of verses piled on top of one another. Anything is possible.’ This approach was liberating and made the process of writing this album truly exciting.”

Poulsen added, “In some ways, it feels like we’ve come full circle. If you draw a circle over time, you eventually return to your starting point, and that’s how I feel now. After navigating through medical challenges, lineup changes, and various other obstacles, this moment feels like a rebirth. It doesn’t feel like we’re releasing our ninth studio album; instead, it feels as though we’re launching our first album all over again, and there’s something incredibly refreshing about that.”

The album God of Angels Trust features an additional nine tracks, including a particularly imaginative and elaborate song titled “In the Barn of the Goat Giving Birth to Satan’s Spawn in a Dying World of Doom,” which promises to engage listeners with its unique lyrical content.

In mid-July, a headlining tour across the U.S. will kick off in Denver, Colorado, culminating in Tinley Park, Illinois, on August 22, with support from Halestorm and The Ghost Inside. Following a brief hiatus of nearly four weeks, Volbeat will then take their music to the U.K. and Europe, supported by Bush and Gel.
