The Season 27 premiere, titled “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” throws viewers into the chaos of the small mountain town of South Park, which is rife with turmoil. Cartman is feeling despondent over the cancellation of his beloved radio show, NPR, while Randy is desperately trying to prevent Jesus from taking control of South Park Elementary. Meanwhile, the current President is consumed with a series of arrests and lawsuits against his adversaries, showing just how chaotic and disorganized the political landscape has become. An enraged mob storms Mr. Garrison’s home, demanding accountability, but they are stunned to learn that Garrison has been out of office for years.
Cutting to the White House, we find a comically chaotic scene where a digital representation of Trump is wreaking havoc. He is seen in the Oval Office, embroiled in a heated debate with the Canadian Prime Minister, who questions his decision to impose new tariffs on Canada. The Prime Minister provocatively asks, “Why are you acting like some kind of dictator from the Middle East?” In typical fashion, Trump retorts, “You don’t want me to bomb you like I did Iraq!” The Prime Minister counters, “I thought you just bombed Iran?” Trump dismissively responds, “Iran, Iraq, what’s the difference? Just chill out!”
Shortly thereafter, we are treated to a surreal scene where Trump gets comfortable in bed with the Devil, suggesting an outrageous desire for intimacy. Despite Trump’s advances, the Devil rejects him, quipping, “You haven’t been working! You’ve just been messing around with your silly memes.” Trump, undeterred, insists, “Come on, Devil, you know you can’t resist this!” He then dramatically pulls down his blanket, revealing an exaggeratedly small penis. The Devil retorts, “I can’t even see anything; it’s so tiny!” This crude humor exemplifies the show’s fearless approach to satire.
As the new season of “South Park” unfolds, it has encountered significant challenges in its rollout. On July 2, Paramount announced a delay for the Season 27 premiere, pushing the date from July 9 to July 27. Shortly after this announcement, the official “South Park” account on X unleashed a profanity-laden statement, attributing the delay to the Paramount-Skydance merger.
The statement expressed the frustration of Parker and Stone regarding the situation: “In response to the press release from Comedy Central about the change in premiere date for ‘South Park,’ we stated – ‘This merger is a shit show and it’s messing up “South Park.” We are currently at the studio working on new episodes and we hope the fans will get to see them somehow.’” Their candidness highlights the tension they feel over the production challenges they are facing.
Parker and Stone also leveled accusations against Paramount president, Jeff Shell, claiming interference in their contract negotiations with Netflix and Warner Bros.. A report from The Hollywood Reporter stated that Paramount, Parker, and Stone had previously agreed upon a staggering $3 billion contract that would span over a decade. However, complications arose as Skydance, currently merging with Paramount, allegedly withdrew from the agreement, throwing the future of the show into doubt.

Under this revised pact, Paramount has ordered an impressive 50 new episodes and secured streaming rights for all 26 previous seasons on Paramount+. Viewers can expect Season 27 to air on Comedy Central, followed by availability on Paramount+ the next day, ensuring that fans have access to the latest content.
