The first trailer for Scary Movie 6 has been released.

The Scary Movie parody film franchise officially began in 2000. That movie was followed by a handful of sequels, including 2001’s Scary Movie 2, 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.

What happens in the Scary Movie 6 trailer?

The Scary Movie 6 trailer previews another ridiculous parody movie that spoofs a number of popular horror movies and franchises, including Weapons, Sinners, Get Out, M3GAN, and, of course, Scream, among many others. The film is directed by Michael Tiddes, while the script comes from Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans, also known as the Wayans Brothers.

Anna Faris reprises her role as Cindy Campbell in Scary Movie 6, while Regina Hall also returns as Brenda Meeks. The cast further includes Shawn Wayans as Shorty Meeks, Shawn Wayans as Ray Wilkins, Jon Abrahamas as Bobby Prinze, Lochlyn Munro as Greg Phillippe, Dave Sheridan as Doofy Gilmore, and more.

Marlon Wayans previously collaborated with Tiddes in several movies, including A Haunted House, Fifty Shades of Black, Naked, and Sextuplets. The Wayans brothers are also producing alongside Alvarez. The project is executive-produced by Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Lowey, and Thomas Zadra.

Hall previously said of Scary Movie 6, via Variety, “I read the script — and it was really funny. I knew what they were intending to do. I always think a work of art is in flux until it’s done and in someone’s hands — you just never know. But the original cast coming back was exciting. Having the Wayans involved again, and Anna Faris too — Brenda can’t live without Cindy. And she’s no better a friend to Cindy this time than she was before, even though they’re still best friends.”
