One of the primary filming sites for season 2 of Wednesday is the renowned Ashford Studios. As reported by PEOPLE, Netflix significantly expanded the studio with an impressive addition of 170,000 square feet of new filming space. A majority of the scenes depicting Nevermore Academy were meticulously filmed within this expansive studio, allowing for creative control and a rich visual environment.
Additionally, pivotal scenes set in Nevermore Academy were shot at the historic Charleville Castle located in County Offaly. Constructed in 1798, this stunning castle has served as a backdrop for various projects, including The Green Knight and the pilot episode of Reign. Its frequent appearances in shows about haunted historical locations only add to its mystique.
Another iconic site featured in the series is Trinity College Dublin, although it wasn’t showcased as an educational institution! The campus’s business school was ingeniously transformed into New Jersey’s Newark Airport, where Netflix collaborated with the college to allow classes to proceed while utilizing the security desk for filming a bustling airport check-in terminal.
