Wordle is becoming a game show!

The incredibly popular New York Times puzzle game is being turned into a TV show now in development at NBC.

The game was acquired by the newspaper company in 2022. To play, a user is given six tries to guess a five-letter word, revealing along the way how many letters match correctly.

The show is coming from Jimmy Fallon‘s company, Electric Hot Dog, and he will be an executive producer, via THR.

Savannah Guthrie – HOSTING!

Today‘s Savannah Guthrie has been tapped to be the host!

Both Jimmy and Savannah have openly discussed their love of the game. Savannah also hosted Jeopardy! in 2021.

Further details about the show, including how the game would work and when it is set to premiere, have yet to be revealed.

The lead editor of Wordle confirmed that some time in the future, the fan fave puzzle game will run out of five-letter words before having to eventually resort to repeating past used words. However, until that day comes, there are still plenty of words that still need to be used!
