While PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass compete for the best deal in gaming this year, there are also numerous promotions happening on Xbox for those who prefer not to pay for online play.
This weekend, Xbox is offering two free games that do not require an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Be sure to take advantage of this offer before it expires.
Play CoD: Black Ops 7 & FBC: Firebreak For Free
Two Shooters With Widely Different Experiences
Xbox is making two games completely free this weekend, and they do not require any tier of Xbox Game Pass:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
- FBC: Firebreak
This is an interesting offer as both games are online-centric shooters and available under the Xbox Play Anywhere program. Black Ops 7 features multiple game modes but excels in its core PVP mode, while FBC: Firebreak is a co-op extraction-style shooter where different classes collaborate to defeat enemies and complete objectives. A progression system encourages multiple playthroughs along with additional difficulty settings.
Shooter fans will enjoy this weekend’s offerings, as both games are worth playing. While I don’t recommend focusing solely on the uneven campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the PVP and zombies modes are enjoyable.
FBC: Firebreak, though not a blockbuster hit, is likely to attract fans of Remedy Entertainment due to its unique art style and mechanics. Additionally, players will benefit from numerous patches and quality of life updates that have been implemented since its launch.
This weekend, there are also two games available for free if you have an Xbox Game Pass membership:
- Sonic Racing: Crossworlds
- Black Desert: Standard Edition
If you enjoy kart racing, I highly recommend trying the former. For many who aren’t die-hard Sonic fans, a single weekend of gameplay may provide a complete experience.
Neither Game Will Be Free For Long
Try Them Out Now
Please note that FBC: Firebreak will be available until March 8, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be removed from the promotion on March 9 at 10 AM PT. Both Sonic Racing: Crossworlds and Black Desert: Standard Edition will also be available until March 8.
Since you don’t need an Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate subscription to access two of these games, every Xbox fan should take advantage of this opportunity if they haven’t played either title yet.
