The 45-year-old actress and the HGTV renovation expert got engaged in 2023 after dating for several years, but have been open about not being in a rush to tie the knot.
While attending the premiere of her new movie Merv last week, Zooey gave an update on the process of their wedding.

“The bar is high for throwing a party. So it has to be really good. So that’s why its taking a long time,” she told People.
In an upcoming issue of the mag, Zooey said the wedding planning is “more exploratory” at this point.
“We’re not in a rush because we’ve been together so long, so it’s not like we’re like, ‘We gotta get married.’ I’d rather find the right place, the right place and situation, so that it’s really special and fun,” she dished.
Both Zooey and Jonathan have been married before. She was previously married to film producer Jacob Pechenik, who she shares kids Elsie, 10, and Charlie, 8, while he was married to Kelsy Ully, who he split with in 2010.
Back in August, Jonathan revealed his own reason for why they had not made any wedding plans yet.
