Was it just a phase, or do the stars of the 2000s emo/scene era still resemble their younger selves from a couple of decades ago?
This era was defined as much by its look and style as by its music. Many of our scene stars sported asymmetrical side-swept bangs, super straight hair, or intensely dark locks with spiky jagged strands sticking up on top. However, everyone ages, and not everyone can maintain the emo look for two decades straight… or can they?
Some artists, like AFI’s frontman Davey Havok, are almost unrecognizable from their 2000s emo era due to his tendency to radically alter his appearance with each new album cycle. In contrast, others, such as Jim Adkins from Jimmy Eat World, appear to have aged very little.
