Metallica kicked off their highly anticipated 2025 tour on Saturday night in Syracuse, New York, marking a significant event for fans and the band alike. This tour is an extension of their M72 world trek and was initially set to commence on April 12 at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, that festival was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, causing a shift in plans. Fans were thrilled to see the band perform a dynamic 16-song set that included a mix of their greatest hits and tracks from their latest album, 72 Seasons, released in 2023.
For those interested in the musical experience, a complete set list and fan-filmed videos from the memorable show can be found below, offering a glimpse into the energy and excitement of the night.
Discover How Metallica Curated Their Unique Set List for Syracuse
In contrast to many of Metallica’s previous tour stops, the performance in Syracuse was a special one-night-only event. Typically, the band showcases two concerts in each city, with each night featuring a unique 16-song set list. This time, however, the set was a carefully crafted blend, combining songs from their two-city performance plans. The show opened with the electrifying “Creeping Death,” creating an immediate connection with the audience, while the iconic “Enter Sandman” brought the evening to a powerful close, leaving fans exhilarated.
Following this electrifying performance, Metallica is set to head to Toronto for two additional shows scheduled for April 24 and 26, promising more unforgettable moments for fans.
