Looking back, she’s surprised by the three-year deal Spotify offered her, even though she realized it would be a shift for her fans since they could no longer access her on Apple Podcasts, which she noted was her “largest platform at the time.”
Nonetheless, Alex’s experience with Spotify proved advantageous for both herself and the company, as she attracted more women to the platform as podcast listeners. Although the deal was fruitful, she certainly felt more knowledgeable when it came to signing her current contract with SiriusXM.
Alex and her Unwell Network, which she established in 2023, transitioned to the platform in 2024, securing a deal valued at $125 million that spans just over three years.
“When I secured my deal with Sirius XM, I recognized that there were so many more options available to me,” she stated. “And while I appreciated my deal at Spotify, it felt quite restrictive and one-dimensional by the time I reached that three-year mark.”
