“Gratitude” was the dominating sentiment at the Marc Jacobs Spring 2027 runway presentation at the New York Public Library. The men’s shows have just wrapped in Europe, but the American designer was back in action at the American landmark to present his latest to the fashion press. Jacobs served up an assortment of bold color combinations and all sorts of shiny and sheer (and sometimes both!) separates. Models (including Yasmin Wijnaldum and Sascha Rajasalu) embraced the no-pants trend, pairing it with vibrant-colored stockings (and heels just as bright).
Marc Jacobs Spring 2027 Collection Review
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“I always get the feeling that he wants to be Tom Ford SO BAD.” [Squizree]
“These shows have become such a waste of money and everyone’s time. What is even the point? If he doesn’t want to do a traditional fashion show, then let’s do a presentation, a lookbook, a movie, whatever. There are so many better ways to present the collection, this one is not doing it any favors. It’s reaching gimmick territory and Marc is better than this.” [Marc10]
“It’s cool that he’s having fun and doing what he wants, but as a consequence I have no clue what his label is supposed to be anymore. One season he’s doing his best Rei Kawakubo impersonation and then the next it’s a bizarre Vacarrello/Prada mashup.” [fruitdots]
“He is doing it for sh*ts and giggles; nothing sells, nothing inspires, nothing is fun. It’s just so horrific what he’s making now compared to his Vuitton.” [Olaffo]
“All stunts, no substance.” [THD96]
