Anthony Mackie Stars in New Sci-Fi Series Trailer by Andy Weir

Prepare for an exciting journey with Audible. The podcast hosting service has created numerous scripted podcasts over the years, but their latest science fiction adventure might be their most astonishing yet. Collider offers an exclusive look at the first trailer and the initial 19 minutes of Exoplanet, a new scripted podcast featuring a stellar creative team and an impressive cast.

The podcast is set in a distant future where humans have achieved interstellar travel…but, as the characters of Exoplanet will soon discover, they haven’t fully mastered it. The starship Wild Blue Yonder is exploring a remote exoplanet when they encounter a strange quantum anomaly that propels them through time. Now, the crew has all landed on the same planet, but they find themselves in vastly different time periods. Chief Engineer Jeff Shaw (Anthony Mackie, Captain America: Brave New World) finds himself in the present; First Officer Becca Bang (Ariana DeBose, West Side Story) is trapped in the planet’s ancient past; and Science Officer Logan Bowers (John Leguizamo, The Odyssey) faces future shock. However, there is a malevolent intelligence behind their situation, and they must find a way to communicate across time to survive.

In the clip from episode 1, “Crash,” we meet the crew of the Wild Blue Yonder, who have signed up for a yearlong space mission to the planet Forge LV. First, we meet Bang, a military veteran who embraces the opportunity to pilot starships, even a “bus” like the Wild Blue Yonder. Unfortunately, even her piloting skills can’t prevent the impending quantum disaster. After the crash, we follow Shaw, who has a young daughter whose birthday he missed due to the mission. He is the first to recover from the crash; he seems to locate Bowers when he picks up his distress signal, but there’s an issue: the signal is somehow originating from outer space. Interested? Be sure to subscribe to Exoplanet on Audible so you won’t miss an episode when it premieres on November 5.

Collider Exclusive · Sci-Fi Survival Quiz
WhichSci-Fi WorldWould You Survive?
The Matrix · Mad Max · Blade Runner · Dune · Star Wars

Five universes. Five completely different ways the future went wrong — or sideways, or up in flames. Only one of them is the world your instincts were built for. Eight questions will figure out which dystopia, galaxy, or desert wasteland you’d actually make it out of alive.

Mad Max

Blade Runner

TEST YOUR SURVIVAL →

01

You sense something is deeply wrong with the world around you. What do you do?
The first instinct is often the truest one.

A Pull on every thread until I understand the system — then figure out how to break it.
B Stop asking questions and start stockpiling — food, fuel, weapons. Questions don’t keep you alive.
C Keep my head down, observe carefully, and trust no one until I know who’s pulling the strings.
D Study the patterns. Every system has a rhythm — learn it, and you learn how to survive it.
E Find the people fighting back and join them. You can’t fix a broken galaxy alone.

02

In a world of scarcity, what resource do you guard most fiercely?
What we protect reveals what we believe survival actually requires.

A Knowledge. If you understand the system, you don’t need resources — you can generate them.
B Fuel. Everything else — movement, power, escape — runs on it.
C Trust. In a world of fakes and informants, a truly reliable ally is rarer than any commodity.
D Water. And after water, information — the two things empires are truly built on.
E Ships and credits. The galaxy is big — you survive it by being able to move through it freely.

03

What kind of threat keeps you up at night?
Fear is useful data — if you’re honest about what you’re actually afraid of.

AThat reality itself is a lie — that everything I experience has been constructed to keep me compliant.
BA raid. No warning, no mercy — just the roar of engines and then nothing left.
CBeing identified. Once someone with power decides you’re a problem, you’re already out of time.
DBeing outmanoeuvred — losing a political game I didn’t even know I was playing.
EThe Empire tightening its grip until there’s nowhere left to run.

04

How do you deal with authority you don’t trust?
Every dystopia has a power structure. Your approach to it determines everything.

ASubvert it from the inside — learn its rules well enough to weaponise them against it.
BIgnore it and stay out of its reach. The further from any power structure, the better.
CAppear to comply while doing exactly what I need to do. Visibility is the enemy.
DManoeuvre within it carefully. You can’t beat a system you refuse to understand.
EResist openly when I have to. Some things are worth the risk of being seen.

05

Which environment could you actually endure long-term?
Survival isn’t just tactical — it’s physical, psychological, and very much about where you are.
