On the second evening of Paris Fashion Week, Anthony Vaccarello celebrated his decade-long tenure as creative director of Saint Laurent. To commemorate such an occasion, the Belgian designer opted to present an almost entirely gold collection (from lamé to brocade), before closing with a series of black gowns and a performance by Charlotte Gainsbourg. In the heart of the Trocadero Square, under gigantic gilded chandeliers, the spectacular set was inspired by the ballroom of the InterContinental Hotel, where Monsieur Saint Laurent used to unveil his haute couture collections. This season, everything Vaccarello touched turned to pure gold – literally. After a decade at Saint Laurent, could this really be Anthony Vaccarello’s last show for the house?
