Jim Parsons has addressed the possibility of returning as Sheldon Cooper, making it clear that a comeback is unlikely. Speaking during an appearance on The View on April 17, the actor shared his thoughts on a potential reboot and explained why he does not see himself revisiting the role.

“I don’t believe I would do a reboot,” Parsons said, adding, “I can’t say I miss him.” He explained that his connection to the character remains strong even after the show ended, noting that much of himself was already reflected in the role. “Especially 12 years on a TV show where they’re writing for this specific actor, there’s a lot of me in that. Not the genius part, but there’s a lot of me in that,” he said.

The actor emphasized that elements of Sheldon’s personality continue to stay with him. He said, “There’s a lot about his qualities and just who he was that I still carry with me, and I certainly still get so much reaction to it.” At the same time, Parsons spoke about the lasting impact of the show and its audience. He said he is often approached by fans who share how meaningful the series has been to them over the years.

The actor explained, “I cannot tell you how many people have said watching that show got me through, whether it’s sickness or just a bad time in life or whatever.” He added that those interactions remain “very, very moving.”

Parsons played the iconic physicist throughout the show’s 12-season run, which concluded in 2019.
