Miley Cyrus Shouts Out Dad Billy Ray Cyrus Amid His Absence at Walk of Fame Ceremony
Miley Cyrus is honoring her father.
During the ceremony on May 22, where she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Hannah Montana star received support from her mother Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, and fiancé Maxx Morando, who were present in the audience. Although Miley’s father Billy Ray Cyrus was noticeably absent from this significant event, she still gave him a heartfelt shoutout in her speech.
“My dad used to say that a skyscraper starts with a jackhammer, so does a star on the Walk of Fame, by the way,” Miley joked to the audience, which included friends Anya Taylor-Joy and Donatella Versace. “And it’s not about the force, but it’s about the repetition.”
“What feels so special to me about this star,” Miley expressed, “is that it’s an accumulation of devotion.”
Despite having a falling out with Billy Ray in recent years—with the “Party in the U.S.A.” singer revealing on the Reclaiming podcast in 2025 that “half of us weren’t speaking to each other at one point”—she mentioned that she waved a “white flag” and reconciled with everyone last year.
