Kate Middleton is embracing her blonde era, and it appears that her recent hair transformation is here to stay. The Princess of Wales resumed royal duties with her husband, Prince William, on September 4 by visiting the Natural History Museum in London. During the visit to the museum’s newly transformed gardens, the mother of three showcased her new look with her signature waves.

According to PEOPLE, she paired her lightest and longest hairstyle ever with a fall-inspired outfit. She wore a neutral-toned tweed blazer over a white button-down collared shirt, black pants, and khaki-brown flats, as reported by E! News. The royal completed her look with an alphabet necklace and minimal makeup.

The 43-year-old previously debuted a lighter hairstyle in late August while visiting a church at Crathie Kirk, near the royal residence of Balmoral in Scotland. Over the years, the Princess of Wales has made subtle changes to her hair color. From experimenting with bangs to short layers and curtain bangs, she has worn various styles in recent years. Notably, she donated 7 inches of her hair to a children’s cancer charity, Little Princess Trust, in 2017.

While discussing Middleton’s gesture at that time, a source told Sunday Express that while her hair was cut at Kensington Palace, “the idea came to her of doing some good with it rather than throwing it away.” That’s when she decided to donate her hair. Soon after, her chopped locks were sent to the trust “using someone else’s name.” The donation was made anonymously “so that the trust didn’t know it was from a royal source.” According to the insider, the trust “thought it was from a female donor in the Kensington area.”
