Christopher French has been maintaining the status quo.
The Annie Automatic musician shared that he and his wife Ashley Tisdale haven’t allowed the backlash over her essay about breaking up with her “toxic mom group” to impact their daily lives.
“We’re doing fine,” French told Page Six in an interview published on September 30. “She’s a super smart, capable person, and she knows what she’s doing, and that’s part of what I love about her.”
In fact, the Recovering podcast host—who shares daughters Jupiter, 5, and Emerson, 2, with Tisdale—stated that he never felt the need to engage in the controversy.
“I have no problem supporting my wife completely in her ability to handle her own interpersonal relationships in whatever way [she] feels is right for her,” French explained, “without getting involved or feeling like I have to speak for her.”
Describing Tisdale as a “really smart chick” and “a very capable person,” the composer noted that understanding where her heart was at is part of “what made it so hard.”
French added, “We are very private, but in speaking to something that really matters to her.”
